For anyone with a large collection of cartridges and different playback requirements; the SME headshell provides great ease for swapping cartridges and the fact that one can instantly swap between different geometric alignments. With a decent headshell incorporating azimuth adjustment, everything is pre-set with the only tweak being arm height and VTF/AS which is simple and quick to do if one has already determined the optimum values.

I have pre-set headshells for 7"s, IEC LPs, DIN LPs, cartridges for vintage microgrooves.
