that company had a great reputation in the beer world, back when I used to follow those things. Your post made me smile, thanks.
I consider it a very positive sign that analog sensibilities, and by extension, our old non digital vinyl recreation , is so strong it is used to sell unrelated product.
It gives me a little more hope that my record stacks might make it past the dumpster when I kick off, but nothing lasts forever.
I used to think records were somewhat like model trains, once the generation that valued them highly died out, so did the interest. Now I wonder, when I see target and Walmart selling special colored or unique vinyl, along with the interest in inexpensive players, without much considered need to upgrade for better, if I was mistaken.
Maybe because the objects are more collector items, as separate from the easily available digital music all around , vinyl will hang on. But it is just so space intensive, that's a real drawback .
perhaps this obscure reinforcement of my old thinking of vinyl records as a generational thing will be something of a payback. Frank Sinatra once had a an exact recreation of the Lionel toy train display that Macy's department store used to put up in the basement every year at Christmas time. It was a big landscaped display, set behind glass, and had every single item Lionel made, and Sinatra used to study it as a boy, knowing his family hadn't the kind of income for such toys.
