I use a vacuum machine (Nitty Gritty) in conjunction with the ultrasonic. Each to his own, but I like to do a distilled water rinse and vac after the ultrasonic cleaning. This to remove any remaining ultrasonic cleaning fluid that may have dried onto the vinyl. So to answer your question, I use both types of machines. For friends who have asked me about record cleaning 101, I normally tell to start with a decent vacuum machine. Then I tell them if they want to take it to the next level, explore the multitude of modestly priced ultrasonics currently available. This would include the reasonably priced Happybuy package.
