Wow! What a backhanded compliment! "What the right hand giveth, the left hand taketh away". When you look at the overengineered much heavier tables, it's easy to dismiss Rega. They simply don't look that impressive. But from experience I can tell you they can sound very good. As I've reported here, I've owned the Acustic Raven One for several years and ultimately sold it and bought a Rega RP 6 which I upgraded with a Groovetracer Subplatter. I've been so content with it, that I have no plans to upgrade to their more expensive tables.
