This recent reissue of the duo Chet Baker and Paul Bley, the French Canadian pianist was recorded in Copenhagen in 1985. I would never have known about it had I not recently watched a movie on Prime called YOU GO TO MY HEAD from 2017. In it, a woman with amnesia is rescued in the desert after a car crash by a man who claims he is her husband. The film starts with this same song from the album, about as sultry a rendition by Baker that I've ever heard and Baker's only vocal on the album.Beautifully done and quite affecting, as is the entire album. Baker and Bley are terrific together and I find this one of the best Chet Baker albums.
The remasteried sound is excellent, the vinyl quiet and well pressed. I bought it on Amazon. Allmusic gives the album 4 1/2/stars.
