Here we go again with some thoughts. This time on turntables. Here is what I already have:
A custom built table I built on my own when I was younger and energetic. Has an MG-1 airbearing arm with a Sota Sapphire platter and bearing.
A Thorens TD 124 with and Jelco 750 12inch arm
I have coming in on order an Audio Mods 10.5 inch tonearm and I wanted to get some thoughts on a table that would go well with it. I am looking to spend what is necessary but not going crazy. About the $5K area would be my tops. Of course, less is better but I do want quality.
I was thinking about a VPI Classic but used they all seem to come with the VPI tonearm. I was going to call Harry Weisfeld and see if I can get one with no tonearm and put the Audio Mods on it. I'm sure he will say to use his tonearm but I am looking for something to use mine.
Another idea would be the Dr. Feickert table as suggested by Michael Tai who set up my other table .
I don't mind another idler drive like the Garrard 301 or even a direct drive but am looking more towards belt drive.
Ideas?
