If it sounds good then the resonant frequency of the moving system does not matter. If it sounds bad, time to go shopping. Or if you're tired of the Shelter, time to go shopping.
I think it's so much BS, but 14HZ is considered the upper end of the acceptable range by those who buy into these things, so it's not really out of bounds.
Nice cartridges for your arm would be Dynavector and Soundsmith, and the former has a higher compliance than the Shelter as do most of the later.
Good luck with the hunt and don't pay too much heed to numerical calculations.
