I have a recommendation for some soft recovery diodes if you need to upgrade a standard bridge and have room for big devices. There are those who like soft recovery and those who prefer Schottky and I'm sure different ones sound different. I have used the IXYS DSEI with excellent results and they are reviewed favorably by others. Looks like they have very soft recovery characteristic. Back in the day I'd would have wondered if there were such a thing as hyper soft recovery.
