RE: Who makes these stands?

I agree with you that they do look similar to the HR or even MR series stands by Target but I think they may be something else for two reasons;

First, the steel pictured looks more substantial to me than the stands in the Target ads. Target says even their best Maximum Rigidity (MR) stands will "deflect" under anything above a 70 lb. load. The speakers I am trying to support are 105 lbs. The steel top plate in the pictures I linked does not appear like it would deflect under 70+ lbs.

The second reason is that if you look at the variety of stands pictured at the bottom of the linked page, they look a little different than Target's offerings, some have openings in the top plate and, even though they look new, none have the Target badge on the base plate.

I suspect the stands in the pictures may have been constructed by a small-medium sized shop somewhere so I was hoping somebody would recognize the work. Hopefully the seller was not "banned" from USAM because of poor customer service. I have not tried contacting USAM directly yet, but I suspect they will not give me the name of a "banned" vendor.
