I have never found much variation in tone between KT88s. What I find to be a nice improvement was upgrading to KT120s. So check if your amp power supply can accommodate them and some Gold Lion KT120s would be great.
If that's not possible, then maybe try some heavier gage speaker cables for more warmth and bottom end.
