RE: my bias is running away on one side even with the bias backed all the way off on that side!

Jonesey, after I replied to you, I took the bottom off of my amp & then I called Cary.
"Unfortunately, we no longer provide tech support over the phone." (If not a direct quote, a close paraphrase.) & then she gave me the web site to contact Cary tech support. Which I will do, but . . . .

So I am like some guy who knows how to change his spark plugs & oil but really has no concept of the internal combustion engine. Except I do understand the internal combustion engine--it's electronics & digital stuff, etc. that leave me clueless beyond the very basics. I can solder & desolder & I do have a multi-meter that has capacitance measurement as a function. I noted that on each side of the Cary, there are 2 each bronze colored Jensen caps that are 11/2" long & about 1" in diameter labeled "Jensen Audio Signal pure copper foil, silver lead out, paper in oil, 0.22 uF/630 WVDC."

With my meter set to measures capacitance, I ON THE GOOD SIDE I got the following readings: 262.2 & 256.6 .

On the bad side I got: 278.0 & one that will read under 1.0 for a few seconds, & then the reading will disappear & the screen will go blank.

Does this sound like the problem, or just another problem my amp was experiencing?
