"If you wanna roll something that's much closer electrically, to the 12AX7, go for a 5751. Much safer bet than the 12AV7. " The idea is to replace the 12AX7 with the Mullard E180CC / 5965. NOT the 12AV7. But I will look into the 5751 and Joes Tube Lore.
