Sure they do. The more you ask from them, the more electrons flow and hit the plates, thus making them hotter. That's why git. amps. that are run very hard need retubing more than a HiFi amp that's not normally pushed to saturation. Now I'm talking about Class AB1 amps, Class A amps actually run cooler the harder you drive them because some of the power previously wasted on the plates, are being routed to the load (speaker).
