That makes sense. I am in a similar situation. I have a SE 46 amp (1 watt) that sounds very nice and is always an interesting contrast with the Emotive Vitas which are my main push-pull amps. With KT-120s, the Emotives have about 50w so there is a major power difference. Sonically, however, each has strengths.

My speakers were inspired by what I've heard at Vu's. I have a Jensen P15LL that crosses over at 1200Hz to an Altec/Western Electric 32 horn with an Altec 802-8G driver. The cabinet is a bass reflex so I get deeper bass extension than Vu's 753 variations. I am sure a nice 713 driver would be a big improvement, but that's not likely to happen.
