Harry Pearson from The Absolute Sound places the Magnepan MG 1.6
in combination with the Sunfire sub (a pair of them actually) on his
"Editors Choice" list with a rating of 3 stars (The Von Schweikert VR-8
received 2.5 stars at $18,900...the Innersound Eros 3 stars at $4000 or
so and the Thiel 2.3 2.5 stars at also close to $4k). When PROPERLY
set up I have heard the sunfire work very well with a number of
systems while I have never heard the equivalent Velodyne cubes do
the same (though a used ULD-18 would put any of the tiny boxes to shame).
