AFAIK, Richlite does not require a California Prop. 65 hang tag, and...

AFAIK, Richlite does not require a California Prop. 65 hang tag (which has now been nationalized by the US EPA), and... it is not hydrophilic.

Richlite does not suck moisture out of the atmosphere the way MDF does.

I did a consulting job for a multibillion dollar company, and it was news to them that Prop 65 was now national. The above are only two of the many reasons I investigated Richlite.

Furthermore, when your business model is to sell $8500/pr. loudspeakers direct-to-consumer, I assume that you can choose almost any cabinet material. (Farcical things like making a cabinet out of gold-plated Titanium so you can charge a million dollars for the speakers don't count as real-world.) The fact that Fern & Roby did independent research and ended up with Richlite, to me at least, speaks volumes.
