Servo subs: functional with a non-servo amplifier?

I've found threads here with the reverse issue: good servo amp but bad drivers. Regrettably, I have the reverse: aging and failing servo amp, but the drivers remain game. (Genesis, and they advise the amp is unservicable, period).

Can I drive the servo subs with a standard, non-servo amp of comparable specs? It seems tragic to retire such a great set of speakers because Genesis went bankrupt and lost the schematics to the amp. Less desirable alternative: can I replace the four sub drivers (per speaker- gulp) with conventionals, and then go to a conventional amp, and thus preserve the lovely cabinets and lifelike mids and top end?

Thanks much for any input. Muddling by with one channel of bass, but that could drop to zero channels any day.
