I've always had issues with speaker grills.. I like them off when listening, but prefer them on for protection. My current speakers, Daedalus Athena... have magnets built into the wood front fascia that are hidden, same on the grills.. So nice as they align and hold them in place without breaking stems and fasteners upon removal.. just about every other speaker I've owned had issues with broken stems and fasteners.. Maybe you can retrofit some type of magnetic holder that might work..
