Depends on what your expectations and/or requirements are. They are fun speakers that are room filling and very easy to listen to, as you probably already know. I have owned a pair that I didn't update, and a friend now has a pair that have been updated with xovers and new diaphragms. If you don't need that last iota of detail and top end extension, they are fine as is. There are far costlier speakers to be had that aren't nearly as enjoyable in my opinion.
