This is true.
However, you added: "He was also the founder of the still succesful loudspeaker brand Acoustic Energy, designing the iconic AE1 which has more or less remained in production in various iterations since 1987."
That, unfortunately, is not true. You are confusing him with Phil Jones, another respected speaker designer.
