Try their first, self titled, "Captain Beyond", 1972, Capricorn. This is not exactly thrash but fast, stoned, heavy metal. Check out Bobby Caldwell's drumming on "Raging River of Fear". Ah yes, drumming, that which separates the good bands from the also rans.
