As audiophiles, we love sitting in the stereo's sweet spot. But sometimes, the music is so kickin', that we just gotta get out, and ramble on down the highway. Such was the case, 35 years ago, when we had Journey's new album, Raised On Radio. We believed that Journey's Jonathan Cain, Neal Schon, and Steve Perry were still living, at least part of the time, here in the Bay Area. We loved going on I-280, by the Crystal Springs Reservoir, Journey's "Suzanne" blaring on the car stereo.
Despite having around 650 in my class, I don't believe anyone was named Suzanne. We had a lot of "Sue" and "Susan," but not Suzanne. And maybe that was a good thing, as no one was associated with the song, "Suzanne."
And once again, the smart audiophile or DJ doesn't need or have to listen to Journey's already overplayed hits. He digs deeper, and plays "Suzanne" instead.
