An audiophile wrote in, that he was disappointed and upset, that no one commemorated the 55th birthday of The Vogues' "Five O'Clock World," which came out in Fall 1965. He said he was in junior high then, at that his dad worked for a company which made or sourced parts for refrigerators and HVAC. Thus, "Five O'Clock World" meant something to him and his working-class family.
Pre-COVID, office workers might get off at 5:00p, but then they faced long commutes. With COVID, if office workers are fortunate still to have a job, they telecommute from home, and may not have set hours. There's always the temptation to log in during "off hours."
"Well then," protests the audiophile above, "Play 'Five O'Clock World,' log the hell off, and stop working!"
