. . . was released yesterday. And I went to an honest-to-God record store in my neighborhood and bought the LP. Just like we used to do. (Sigh.) After I paid, the clerk handed me a wristband and told me to return the next day (today) at 6:00 pm for a free Ryan Adams in-store performance. I didn't turn down the invitation!
I just got home from one of the loveliest shows I've ever attended. He played the entire album on 6- and 12-string guitars. The material is strong -- probably the best since mid-2000s -- and now it's extra-special. He's playing another show right now with his full band, which was too expensive to attend ... sold out in eight seconds and several hundred bucks for a ticket via Stub Hub? I'm not sure that anyone is worth that. And I liked this outcome better, I think ;)
