Jim Austin assumed since he had a PhD he MUST know all about quantum physics, that it couldn't possibly work. That's what happens when it gets Piled Higher and Deeper. Even Clark's buddy Dr. Gow poo-poo'd my quantum explanation. Henk and his wife got it, though. I demo'd the Chip for Curl and Crump in the Soundlab room 2005 that year and they both heard it right away, but later under some pressure Curl folded and claimed he might have been tricked.
After Wellfed dropped out of the Amazing Randi Million Dollar Challenge mostly because they required ten consecutive correct guesses under very controlled blind conditions on a system of THEIR choosing i because the target of The Amazing Randi due to the apparent paranormal aspect of the Intelligent Chip and also the clever clock. One assumes The Amazing Randi had tired of going after dowsers and spoon benders. Later on he went after Michael Fremer and attempted to get him involved in a cable Million Dollar Challenge.
