Our first poodle ignored recorded music, but when we played the piano he would come running in and commence to howl. He loved to go sailing, so this interest in music was a surprise.
One day, as I was working on a piece that had a lot of repeated G's in it, he was howling away when he suddenly sang the note G himself, and held it a bit. His back was to me and he stopped howling, turned and looked directly at me. From then on, whenever I played "Blue Roz", he would bound into the room, stand beside the piano and sing the G's. I have this on tape.
Our second poodle did not sing but whenever the piano was played would come in and lie down with his head as close to the piano leg as possible. He would sleep like that while we were playing.
