I disagree about sending outside the 48 states. I once ran an ad stating I only would send in the 48, but wound up sending to Italy because I got paid via bank transfer. No Ebay or Paypal to intervene for the buyer, and no fake checks to deal with. He just wanted me to mark the packages as used audio equipment, which they were, to save some taxes I suppose. Went without a hitch. In this instance, it seemed there was no gamble for me, but there was some for the buyer who understood that. I'm glad he was persistent! Trust your gut, and consider the bank transfer as the payment method.
