Protection works both ways. I personally find it better to purchase on Ebay than Audiogon for obvious reasons. Ebay has your back. Sellers are rewarded with a larger audience to sell their merchandise. You have to accept the good with the bad. And, maybe your Jolida does have a hum; just re-list the amp with a caveat that it might hum. If the buyer accepts those terms, I think you would be able to sell the item without a return privilege.
