After it is restored, change some of the default settings to make it better.
Dynamic Range Control
Default setting = STANDARD. Change it to WIDERANGE.
Disc Resume
Change it to OFF.
I can't remember if there's a filter option or not, if yes, set it to default SHARP.
If progressive video outputs are available, set it back to interlace.
What all the above do is to unshackle the dsp from unnecessarily expending it's calculation capabilities, which will lead to better sound all around.
Set this unit in a place far from metallic materials.......
