That's why I love magnepan.
I bought some used MG-1s and had 'em repaired at the factory in 2004 or so. They were 25 years old,at least. And still supported by the factory.
Good stuff can be fixed and is generally worth it.
A good reason to avoid hi-dollar CD players. Commodity, marginally supported transports being sold to hi-end companies which won't fix 'em 5 years later.
