at least the past few years, to have reached a very high level, voice as well as her playing.Oddly my opinion of Harry Connick Jr. follows a roughly parallel trajectory, what I've been hearing recently (again over last few years) seems a high point in the continuance of the Big Band tradition.
I sometimes wonder were I to reexamine the early works of either if I'd find the fault rested in myself, perhaps a victim of a simplistic cliché... after all Krall didn't gain the attention of the likes of a Ray Brown only because she was a cute blond!
