Cooperative interaction among groups, especially among the acquired subsidiaries or merged parts of a corporation, that creates an enhanced combined effect.The dictionary definition supports your idea Don, but it is quite the context of discussion as I put it. My feeling was more that synergy exists if the two components work constructively together so there is no depreciation of the signal rather than it meaning there was an increase in the quality of signal because they are linked.
