And it most certainly isn't the compression, I can dbx expand if I want. There are some FM stations around here that have that "wide and fat" sound and even give my sub a very good workout. I wish all CD's and a lot more FM stations sounded this good. And I'd like to know the answer, I have often wondered it, but just guessed it was some tube-based processor.
