I think there is a big difference between saying something like "The bass was a little flabby" and "The bass was a little flappy due to the amp".If the writer thinks the bass was flabby he is surely entitled to that experience.
The problem lies in presenting the cause of the flabbiness. We all know how important the room is and how difficult show conditions can be. My comment was directed at making a diagnosis.
