I kinda figured it would be one of the cables:) The tonal balance could have a lot to do with the cap upgrades in the Advents. At least when I replaced the caps in my Advents with polypropylenes it certainly opened the top end up and make the speakers a bit brighter. If you haven't already try some Mills resistors on those Advents. Also consider removing the metal grilles on the tweeters.Russ
