There have been recent reports at the General Asylum that many claim to hear improvements from copied CD's over the originals. Has anyone tried the Genesis Time Lens with copied and uncopied CD's??There are many possibilities - dropped bits, induced distortions that change the sound into a form that some people like better subjectively than accuracy and low distortion. Another possibility is that jitter is removed in the process.
It would be interesting to see if the Genesis Digital Time Lens, which stores and reclocks the digital signal in real time to remove jitter would product the same effect in the same system as copying the CD.
Are there any other well-engineered and documented jitter-reduction components that could be used in a similar comparison?
