I'm confused when you say, "Obviously the Art is a lot cheaper, so I'm leaning that way".The dAck is only $399 and doesn't require mods/upgrades to sound great. It also is less dependant on a great transport than a lot of dacs. I've had a dAck now for about a month and it is simply wonderful in my system. And it's not simply great considering the price....it's great period and oh BTW, it's only $399.
The thread on Audiocircle below is a definite must read. The comments by the reviewer are very similar to my own experience.
