Hello subhuman,If you have good charging hygiene (i.e., after 4 hours you shut the unit off), the cells usually charge within 15-20 minutes. It is designed to automatically charge when the unit is off. With short charge cycles between every use, you could feasibly use it for 20 hours a day. No overnight charging in this design. Good battery maintenance habits are no more work than similarly remembering to stop your turntable after each listening session.
Provided that you follow the battery care rules outlined in the manual, the batteries should last at least two years, probably three, assuming full cycle on the cells (four hours) one to two times every day. That is up to eight hours of listening, which is a lot more than many people do in a week.
Best,
Chris
