These kinds of revelations really make one think twice about what goes into a piece of "high-end" audio gear. It certainly makes me hesitate to consider buying any piece of Bryston gear - in fact, I don't think I would ever consider it, knowing what you've revealed.

In general (but not always!), I try to stick with upper end of the mass market Japanese/Chinese brands. Somebody might say, ". . . says the guy with the Mark Levinson amp", but that's kind of the exception which proves the rule in my case. ;-)
