It might work but I haven't tried it. Squeezebox support adds a layer of emulation kludge onto Roon and it's native RAAT protocol.
If you can't get it working to your satisfaction, you can buy a Roon Ready end-point for $200. Plug it into your network, plug it into your DAC SPDIF input, let Roon discover it on the network and you're good to go.
P.S. I assembled my own using a Raspberry Pi board, the DigiOne add-on board with SPDIF output, and a case I bought off Amazon. The DigiOne Player from Allo (linked below) is already assembled and ready to go. The only thing you'll need to do is login to it over the network or with a keyboard/mouse/LCD attached and ENABLE the Roon Bridge software.
