Home Digital Drive

Upsamplers, DACs, jitter, shakes and analogue withdrawals, this is it.

I have never had problems reading CDs since I brush them off every time..

IMO the problem with CD players is the dirt folks let into the players with not clean CDs.
The gap between the reading lens and the CD surface is really tiny.
An analogy would be driving your car on the freeway at 70mph and having bricks laying all over across the road.. You do not stop, you just hit the bricks as you go. (so how long can you keep this up before the thing you are driving breaks?)

The tiny (invisible to the normal glancing eye) dust and dirt on the CD is just the same as the bricks.

So I brush off CDs and DVDs with a brush every time. And I find the only reason my 10 plus year old, always used, CD players skip is some tiny bit of dirt I failed to get off.
