Upsamplers, DACs, jitter, shakes and analogue withdrawals, this is it.

Anyone tried mp3s at variable bit rate high quality?

Mp3s that are variable bitrate set at "high quality" allegedly sound as good as 320 kbps while only being 2/3rd in the size. Has anyone tried this?

I did try variable bit rate, then encoded it to wav file and burned it to CD- I couldn't tell the difference! But I was using non-audiophile music (rock music) so maybe that's why. But I could tell the difference between the originals and the regular 128 kbps.

Does anyone here use variable bit rate?

Do mp3s at high quality sound better than VHS and cassette?
