Longer Toslink cables instead of longer electrical digital cables is the way to go, KP. I'm also a Monarchy DIP user, and the DIP is an ideal digital interface processor for any kind of Toslink application. It's especially good for a long-distance audio distribution system, when a 35 foot (for example) Toslink cable is implemented for a run, then plugged into the DIP to lower jitter, re-clock the signal, and convert digital optical to 75 Ohm, or 110 Ohm digital output formats. Keep in mind there are none of the downsides involved with Toslink cables that are involved with electrical cables, no concern about cable distances when HQ active Toslink repeaters are used for very long distances, since only light is transmitted. Otherwise, a glass Toslink cable product such as the Lifatec Silflex Glass Toslink provides audiophile-quality performance, but is limited to 16 foot length cables.
