Often a good sign of a major cable upgrade is adjusting some key aspects of an audio system, with loudspeaker positioning near if not at the top of the list, especially for a more notably focused perception of spatial cues, including ambient information/venue size. Soundstage boundaries (including soundstage height) are key aspects of an audiophile-system goal, and it's what high-performance cables tend to provide.
The bottom-end is where things can get a bit murky, with various efforts to tune a particular audio system more towards a listener's taste. Sound shaping due to the use of specific cables requires a good-sounding listening room to begin with, since the 900lb gorilla of an audio system tends to be the room itself. AC delivery is as much of an art as signal cables, as their influences should work in tandem, with complementary synergy as a goal.
