One thing you might want to try is the Schroeder method (google) where you double up on runs of either IC's or speaker wire using a splitter. Try the cost of a cheap splitter (ebay, amazon) you will need two pair, one at the amp end and one at the speaker end or the IC source. If, like me you hear differences get the more expensive brand splitters.
The interesting thing is that if you like the sound of both (speaker wires) for example, you can get the best of both worlds if one is more detailed and one is more full. Good luck!
