RE: Gold EIZZ Teflon XLR for DIY AES/EBU digital cable builds.

Since a twisted pair is all that is required to pass the signal, I find the third pin to be unnecessary, A simple twisted pair provides better signal purity, IMO. There are some cases in pro audio that require and/or benefit from a ground wire, but I don't think it's necessary for a typical home audio application, especially for an unshielded balanced cable application.
