I just got my DRD 45s up and running and they sound great. Thanks Ron for all your help in diagnosing the bad L2 inductor. I will ship out the bad one in the next couple of days. Now all I need to do is find out which 45 I like the most? National Union, RCA, RCA Cunningham, Philco, Sylvania, TJ Mesh, or other. Its a tough life. Thanks once again and have a great day.

Hi Goldie,my favourites were Cunningham globes as I had unsuccessful experience with EML early production hoever my current favourites are the new EML solid plates which give me all the transparency i require with the presence feeling of the vocalists. I tried the cunninghams again but they sound way too smooth for my liking now. Try them as they are not too expensive and could provide many hours of fun and get a pair of EMLs whlie you're at it.
Hi Smart845,
Thanks for the information. Where is a good place to order EML Solid Plates? Price? Have a great day.
I bought mine direct from Jac @ Jacmusic. His customer service is exceptional and he stands by his EML tubes 100%. Cunninghams come up on Ebay quite regularly so keep looking.
I have a pair of these tubes from RCA that are the best "I" have heard in the DRDs.
I really like the sound of my RCA Cunningham 45 STs. One of the tubes is going blue. I have heard it could be going bad or it could be OK. Will see. I am going to get a pair of RCA Globe soon. I can't wait to hear those.
