I had/am having few problems with the DRD build in this regard. The 45 socket being turned 90 degrees to the manual diagram really wasn't much trouble. In fact, it sent me to the Radio Amateurs Handbook, once again, and Duncan's Tube Lore. I learned a good deal again.
The IEC, tho, that IEC receptacle is KILLIN' ME!

I have seen the Middle Ground pin on IEC's mounted on the bottom and on the top. Which is the approved method?

however many install the ground pin up on ac outlets. I believe the thought process here is - if a power cord should become loose, but not completely disconnected from the outlet, and expose its metal prongs, if something were to fall on the exposed prongs (across live & neutral) it would obviously create some fireworks. Having the ground pin up can act as a shield.
The back of the connector is marked "L" for live and "N" for neutral.
