Jonathan,The challenge with the Reveille Phonostage is the fine soldering required. The phono board is very densely packed with components and the pads are all very small (most are 1/16" in diameter).
So it requires a lot of patience, a very well lit working area, a small pencil soldering iron, a steady hand (lay off the extra cup of Java) and a good magnifying glass to visually inspect each solder joint.
The phono board is assembled and tested in stages. You build a section and then measure a few voltages. If the voltages test good, then you proceed to the next section. Assembly time is approximately 8 hours for the complete kit.
It sounds like you have some experience soldering and building. This one will further test your skills but if you have patience and don't rush the assembly, and are the type that can check and double-check your work before proceeding to the next step...it'll be a piece of cake.
