Hello Everyone!
I have been newly born into the world of tube audio. Right now I own a old Stromberg-Carlson amp. Originally it used 7027a's in the output stage but mine has a mix of 7027's and 6L6gc's.
What I was wondering, is if 4 new Svetlana 6L6gc 's would be a good place for me to begin?
Many thanks in advance.

SeanWith an old amp, it never hurts to begin the upgrade process by retubing the unit...assuming it is functioning properly. You might even be happy with the re-tubed sound and decide to go no further!

Hi Ron,
I've ordered the new tubes, think I'd better do my power supply caps next. The end caps look like there ready to pop, and the sounds is distorted during heavy bass outputs.
Ill be in touch
thanks
sean
